Hutcheon

I liked Hutcheon’s idea of mimesis and how we assume that there is a “real” out there to represent.  I guess when I think about it there really isn’t anything totally true or real out there.  The way we are, live our lives, dress, eat, love is just a result of what our society tells us is right and wrong.  If we are representing our lives with literature, art, music… then what are we really representing?
